Frequently Asked Questions about Piano Moving

Why hire a professional piano mover?

A professional piano mover has been trained in the delicate art of piano moving. Piano moving requires extensive experience in order to avoid damaging the piano or any property. The risk of personal danger is extremely high for the do-it-yourself piano mover as well. Our Washington DC piano moving crews are insured and covered with workman's compensation. We also stock all of the equipment needed to move a piano.

How many piano movers will be used to move my piano?

The number of men needed to move a piano varies depending upon the conditions of the move. If you are moving the piano over stairs then more men will be needed. In some conditions two men can be used to move the smallest uprights. Other times ten will be used to move the larger grand pianos. Please contact us for more information.

What type of equipment will be used?

The equipment need to move a piano is fairly standard, though we do manufacture our own specialized grand piano covers. Unless the moving condition is unusual we use standard moving equipment.

What are my valuation coverage options?

As required by law, you are automatically covered for $.XXX per pound for your move. Though we are thoroughly-trained and experienced we do highly recommend that you at least consider taking additional coverage in the unusual event that your piano is damaged. We automatically insure you against property damage, though this does not cover the piano. Please contact us for more information regargding valuation coverage..
